The upcoming election is on the front of most people’s minds these days. We’ve heard many of our members and participants discussing it. Knowing that knowledge is the key to good decision-making, the national YWCA has created a very informative website about the issues important to our organization.  It is www.ywcavote.org.  It’s really worth checking out.

Here in Asheville, we have posted information around the building about early voting. Also, over the past few months there have been volunteers in the lobby registering people to vote. A very exciting time, indeed.

I think it’s wholly appropriate that the YWCA encourages folks to vote. At the local level, voting is at the root of community action, and participation and at the national level ties in to our mission.
