Issac Dickson Marches

5 May

One of the most visible events for the Stand Against Racism was Issac Dickson Elementary School 3rd – 5th grade students who marched through downtown Asheville with signs they made themselves. Everyone involved said the children went away from this event feeling very empowered. Cate Scales, a parent of one of the students who marched with them said, “This was one of the most amazing walks of my life…. These kids are color blind, and activists to boot… yea!” Here are some photos from Cate and from Michael F. Muller. You can click here for a photo gallery from this march and from the YWCA’s event at Aston Park which is on the Asheville Citizen-Times website.
