Neighborhood Conversation Monday, April 25

11 Apr

The YWCA’s community-wide Stand Against Racism is Friday, April 29th. There are currently 116 participating sites signed up in Asheville and Buncombe County. It’s not too late for your business, organization or faith group to join us! Go to www.ywcastand.org for more information and to sign up.

We are kicking off the week of the Stand Against Racism with an event here at the YWCA called “Standing Against Racism in the Midst of a Changing Neighborhood” on Monday, April 25 at 7:00 pm. It will be a conversation among people who live, work, play and worship along South French Broad Avenue.

For decades South French Broad has had an identity as an African American neighborhood, but it seems fewer and fewer Black families own homes and live in this neighborhood. How and why is the neighborhood changing? Join us for a panel and small group conversations.

Child care will be available, call 254-7206 x 113 by Monday April 18th to reserve a space. For questions about the event, call 254-7206 x 203.
