2011 YWCA Stand Against Racism a Huge Success!

3 May

Asheville’s 2011 Stand Against Racism was a huge success. With 159 participating sites, we had the most sites of any YWCA in the country. As you can see from the image above, the Stand was the cover story of the Mountain Xpress, and received advance coverage in the Citizen-Times. Events happened throughout the community starting on April 21 and going through Sunday, May 1. The bulk of activity was on Friday, April 29, the official Stand Against Racism day. You can click here for coverage in the Citizen-Times about some of the things that happened that day, and click here to see a photo gallery. We’ll be posting photos and stories here and on our Facebook page.
