YW Pool and one Locker Room Closing Temporarily for Upgrades

8 Aug

We know that not everyone who reads this blog is not a Club W or Aquatics member, but in the interest of being sure that the word gets out, we are using this forum to announce that our pool and the women & children’s locker room will be closed from Monday, August 12 until Tuesday, September 3.

ImageOur annual closing of the pool for maintenance has to be extended this year to replace the 25-year-old lining. We have combined this renovation with our routine cleaning so that we can re-open after Labor Day with a sparkling pool.

We have worked out an arrangement with the JCC to give our members access to their pool. For more details, please go to our website.

Anyone who has a locker rental in the women & children’s locker room is welcome to move to the women only locker room during this time. We ask that you move prior to this Saturday. If you do not need to access your locker during the pool closing you can leave it locked and your items will be secure.

We regret the inconvenience to our members, and of course we would avoid this costly and time-consuming project if we could! But this renovation is necessary to keep our pool safe and operational.

The YWCA relies on our members to continue our work towards our mission. Membership fees support vital programs that bridge gaps in child care, education, health care, and financial stability.

If you have any questions, please contact Director of Aquatics Tonna Davis, 254-7206 x 110 or tdavis@ywcaofavl.org or Director of Health & Fitness Susan Macdonald, 254-7206 x 213 or smacdonald@ywcaofavl.org.
